General Mobile DSTL1 dual-SIM Android phone for the US, Turkey

. General Mobile’s Android plans were first unveiled back in January, when the company said it would launch the world’s first dual SIM phone to run on Google’s OS – the so-called DSTL1 Imaginary.

As it turns out, the company is seriously betting on Android and it intends to launch the DSTL1 starting June.

According to Android Authority, the US and Turkey will be the first markets to get the phone, with Russia and Germany to follow.

The DSTL1 doesn’t have 3G – being only a GSM/EDGE device, so it may not be that successful in the US.

Anyway, as you can see in the images below, the General Mobile DSTL1 doesn’t look bad at all:



Apart from letting you use two SIM cards at a time, the DSTL1 also offers:

* 3 inch TFT resistive touchscreen display with 240 x 400 pixels (made by SHARP)
* Android 1.5 Cupcake
* 900/1800/1900 MHz connectivity (850MHz will be added too)
* 5MP autofocus camera with flash (apparently made by Sony)
* Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, A2DP
* Music and video players
* 4GB MicroSDHC card in the box
* Marvell PXA 310 processor at 624 MHz
* Talk time: up to 240 minutes
* Standby time: up to 150 hours
* 112 x 54 x 16 mm
* 135 grams

The retail price of General Mobile DSTL1 should be anywhere between $550 and $750.
