Alongside the Galaxy Spica, Corby and Corby Plus, Samsung has also brought a new Jitterbug phone to CES.
Called the “Jitterbug J in Red”, the handset is actually the same old Jitterbug J, but now it has a red case.
The red Jitterbug is launched by Samsung “in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement” and is part of a health and wellness initiative which encourages women to “speak up” against heart diseases. The handset will come with health and wellness apps and services, including Jitterbug’s 24-hour LiveNurse service, and a “Daily Health Tips” application.
Made for seniors, the Jitterbug phone is extremely easy to use, featuring a large keypad, Bluetooth, a 2.1 inch display with 176 x 220 pixels, and a 1.07 inches external screen.
The Jitterbug J in Red phone will be available starting this month – probably through Jitterbug’s website and retail partners like RadioShack and Sears.
Samsung and Jitterbug say that, based on the phone’s sales, they will donate up to $500,000 to the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement.
