Nokia E63 VS Blackberry 8220 Pearl – Challenging Each Other

Blackberry is a well known company for its high end business focused phones while Nokia is a new entry in this field with its E series of mobile phones. The Nokia E63 is a colorful & attractive 3G smartphone which suits all business & personal needs. And Blackberry 8220 Pearl is a fantastic business and personal smartphone as well and it looks compact due to its flip design.

The Nokia E63 comprises of a 2.36 inches QVGA screen displaying up to 16 million colors with screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels along with 2 customizable home screen modes. The weight is 126 grams and comes with measurements of 113mm x 59mm x 13mm. The stylish Pearl 8220 sports two display screens. The external TFT LCD screen will allow the users to view relative information. Whilst the 2.6 inches TFT LCD internal comes with 65k colors with screen resolutions of 240 x 320 pixels allowing for bright and colorful images.

Both the phones have got 2 mega pixel camera but with different functionalities. As in case of Nokia E63, it sports Digital Zoom, LED Flash, Flash Range 1 Meter, Flash Mode (Auto, Off & Forced), CMOS Sensor and numerous others too. And the Blackberry 8220 allows Flash, Zoom, Dedicated Camera Key etc. features.

Flash Lite 3, MP4, 3GP, H263 & MPEG4 VSP video files as well as MP3, MP4, WMA, WAV, RA, AAC, AAC+ & eAAC+ music files are accepted by the music player and video player of Nokia E63. While media playback of MP3, WMA, AAC+ music files through the media player as well as video files like DivX, WMV, XviD, 3gp are adoptable on the video player of Blackberry 8220.

Nokia E63 is a 3G enabled phone and it supports HSCSD technology too. The Blackberry Pearl doesn’t support any of these so the former one is superior in this context too. WLAN Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP, USB, GPRS and EDGE technologies are commonly presented in both of them. Moreover, other similarities include document editor, SMS, MMS, Email, Instant Messaging etc. messaging services.

HTML, XHTML, MP, WML, CSS, Nokia browsers complete the Internet access scenario through the Nokia E63. While 8220 Peal comes with HTML browser and RIM Wireless Modem attributes. Nokia E63 is loaded with Mini Maps and the Pearl also sports Blackberry Maps application as well.

Both the phones allow up to 8GB expansion through their MicroSD card slot while the Pearl 8220 comprises 128MB flash memory and the Nokia E63 has got 110MB memory of its own.
