The HTC Ozone being announced by Verizon Wireless is the company’s equivalence to Sprint’s HTC Snap. Although it comes with a slight difference in design, it offers many of the same features and is positioned toward the same group of messaging-savvy users.

With its ergonomically-designed QWERTY keyboard for fast and easy typing, the candybar HTC Ozone measures 114mm x 64mm x 13mm with a weight of 105g. It has a 2.4-inch QVGA display which supports 64,000 colors and a pixel resolution of 320×240. The Ozone supports dualmode (CDMA 800/1900; GSM 850/900/1800/1900) functionality.

As a Windows Mobile 6.1 device, it offers Microsoft Direct Push Technology for real-time e-mail delivery and automatic synchronization with your Outlook calendar, tasks, and contacts via Exchange Server. It supports Verizon Wireless’s EVDO Rev.A network, comes with built in WiFi and pre-installed with AIM, Yahoo messenger.

In addition, it features 3G and WiFi data connectivity, a high-capacity 1500mAh battery, Bluetooth with A2DP and has a rated battery life of 4.83 hours talk time and 13.5 days standby time.

It’s also surprisingly affordable. Verizon are asking $49.99 (after a wretched $70 mail-in rebate) assuming you’re willing to sign up to a two-year agreement, while VZ Navigator is the usual $9.99 per month add-on. The Verizon HTC Ozone will be available from June 29th online, and in stores from July 13th.

The HTC Ozone has amazing features. The CDMA and GSM connectivity is the best feature in this phone. It is very reasonable. It is a light weight phone. There are some buttons and navigational keys which are quite easier and simpler. The design is pleasing to the eyes, very decent.
