Nokia Music Updated to v1.3

8:47 PM Edited by Blony

Nokia have updated the Nokia Music PC app to version 1.3, adding in software to ease connection difficulties between the S60 handsets and the music client. The app will now offer to switch the connection modes of a connected device to ease transfer of music, and the caching of the contents of a smartphone has now been tweaked, allowing faster connections to be made.

Other changes have been made, notably to the album art function where art was sometimes not showing up on the Music player on the handset; and transferred files will now have artwork checked and embedded correctly if required; burning and ripping CD's now show up on the progress bar.

There's also an intriguing note on the blog post that says:

We hope to make some announcements soon about our future direction. In the meantime, let us know what you think about our recent update.

Pure speculation on our part, but with the shift of many stores to DRM-free music, are Nokia looking at removing some of the software locks on the purchased music tracks?
