After the wristwatch yielded to the mobile phone as the most popular gadget and attempts to restore the lead failed the leading watchmaking companies decided to bind the two devices together to make wristwatches popular again. Some of them launch extremely expensive symbiosis of a mobile phone and an automatic watch under its brands name; others install the wrist watch movements into the exclusive diamond-set luxury phones. And some companies found a very simple but effective solution – they developed brand name soft to be applied in new models of mobile phones.

The Swiss watchmaker from Bienne – Glycine – presents its new application

for the iPhone. Like the mechanical original the watch on the screen of the device features the functions of hours, minutes, seconds, date and a GMT. With one single click of the button the face oft eh watch is changed by the back case allowing to admire the movement of the Airman 17 watch.

The transparent back side of the watch shows the rotor for the automatic movement that will actually move with the watch (using the built in accelerometer in the iPhone). The change of the time zones is made by a slide at the touchpad display.

The Airman has been a very popular pilot watch from Swiss Glycine for over 50 years. It is a classical model which will always remain in fashion.

Besides Glycine the soft for the iPhone was developed by such renowned and famous brands as Bell & Ross and Swiss Army. iPhone owners can find the applications in the “AppStore” section at the Apple website .
