Earlier this year, Mauro told us about the first tests with the Android operating system in netbooks like the Asus Eee PC. Recently we learned that HP was considering the possibility of their use in netbooks and now begin to arrive on that reliable hearsay may be the first to use Android NETBOOK officially.

In Computerworld echoed statements by Nixon Wu, one of the founders of the company that will manufacture, Guangzhou Skytone Transmission Technologies, which claimed that this NETBOOK with Android to be available within a period of three months under the name Alpha 680.

This notebook includes a 533 MHz ARM processor, cheaper and less power consumption that Intel Atom, and the operating system free from Google, allowing its price is lower than other netbooks like the Asus Eee PC One or the Acer Aspire. In fact, we speak about $ 250, possibly less, and the battery lasts about 12 hours.

The prototype of the Alpha 680 weighs 680 grams and measures curiously 21.59 cm long 15.24 cm wide and just over 3 cm thick. It has a 7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and 128 MB DDR2 RAM (which could be expanded to 256 MB) and a 1 GB hard drive (expandable to 4 GB). The storage capacity could be expanded using the SD card slot or two USB ports.

Technical specifications are considerably lower than those we are seeing in the current netbooks, but perhaps his great autonomy and low price compensates for the difference in power. We'll see how that works once you are up for sale.
