At the beginning of this year problematic for more than one manufacturer, Nokia reported a sharp drop in sales and earnings in the first quarter of 2009. During a presentation to the CEO of Nokia, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo was reported that Nokia's net income during the first quarter of this year reached 122 million euros, 90% below the 1.22 billion euros same quarter of 2008.

Nokia estimates the total market sold about 255 million units during the first quarter, 14% less than a year ago, of which Nokia sold about 93 million computers, representing a fall of 19% over sales for the same period last year and well above the overall average, which is somewhat worrying, but understandable, since most have the greatest risk.

While sales fell by 19% and net income fell an amazing 90%, Nokia's shares are rising, because the estimates were accurate and there was no loss, as they are happening to other companies.
