Microsoft bet on 3G in China to grow with Windows Mobile

Microsoft has partnered with chip designer MediaTek to develop chipsets for 3G smartphones with Windows Mobile in order to boost the emerging Chinese 3G technology TD-SCDMA and trying to promote Windows Mobile in this market. It is estimated that the first teams will be ready in late 2009, for when you leave the new version of Windows Mobile 6.5.

MediaTek clearly supports the Chinese 3G standard TD-SCDMA, a chip designed to do that for smartphones with multimedia capabilities with WVGA screen resolution, digital camera up to 5 MPX and video recording in VGA quality up to 30 fps. In its alliance with Microsoft will see the real penetration of 80% have said that the Chinese market.

Nokia is another big company that wants to take advantage of the new big push to have the 3G in China during 2009, which is estimated to be invested over 40 billion dollars between 2009 and 2010 on infrastructure between the three 3G operators
