Movistar launches 3G in Venezuela

As reported by Con-Café, almost a month since the launch of the iPhone 3G Movistar in Venezuela, the phone starts to offer 3G services in Venezuela.

Users can choose an unlimited plan, or prepaid postpago mode, and downloading at speeds up to 1 mbps. Initially will be approximately 120 radiobases UMTS / HSDPA, and then about 1,000 cells 3G throughout Venezuela by 2009.

Movistar mobile devices compatible with the network UMTS / HSDPA installed in the frequency band 1900 MHz are: BlackBerry Bold 9000, Palm Treo 750, Nokia N95, N95 8GB, N78, 3120, 3555, 5610, 5320, E71, 6555i , Motorola Z9, V9 Ferrari; HTC TNT II (Kaiser), Sony Ericsson K850i, W760, Z750a, iPhone 3G 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G.
