ComScore has just submitted a report which concluded today mark the number of people who downloaded mobile games grew 17 percent between November 2007 and November 2008 in the United States.

During this period, some 8.5 million people downloaded a game from their mobile devices, which represents 3.8 percent of users.

Smartphones are the main reason for this growth: last year there was no smartphone in the list of 10 best cell phones with downloaded games ... but that changed in this period are 6 smartphones within that top 10. Thus 34% of mobile game downloads were made from a smartphone.

The iPhone and the BlackBerry Curve are largely responsible for this growth and to replace devices like the Motorola RAZR V3 and other low-end. In that sense, iPhone users already represent 14% of discharges in November, with 32.4% of those who downloaded a game in that month, compared with the average percentage is 3.8 percent.
